New siding replaced the old siding and trims were added where new windows replaced the old.
Trims were added at the new windows, a new smooth stucco finish was applied, and the red balau (batu) deck was built at the finished floor level of the house, over the area of an existing on-grade concrete patio that was removed. A skylight was added to provide daylight in the kitchen.
The new deck is in the distance, beyond the Master Bedroom landing.
The new wood deck with relocated posts supporting the roof beam, French doors that replaced windows, windows that replaced sliding aluminum doors, and the new bay centered on the kitchen sink.

Note the raised cat feeding “table” under the phone desk to the right. The raised “table” keeps human feet from kicking over the bowls. The table top matches the the quartz countertops in the rest of the kitchen for ease in keeping the surface clean.
Note the new bay at the kitchen sink. The original upper cabinets above the peninsula were not replaced in order to open the view. The skylight was added to bring natural daylight into the kitchen.
Note the upper cabinets and soffit above the peninsula.

With new kitchen bay window, LED lighting, and new skylight (not shown in this view), the kitchen is now bright and airy.

The bay provides a window seat.
The new windows on the north wall have a lower sill height than the original, and the bed was moved to the east wall to center on the view out the new french doors.
The new french doors open the view to the garden and hills to the west bringing added light into the room. The bed is centered on the new doors.
Note the blank west wall where the new french doors were added.
Sliding doors to the patio were replaced with new windows.
